South Mountain Overlook warmly invites educators and organizations with educational missions to use our space. Whether you’re delivering an exhibition, a lecture, a performance, or a community project, we provide a welcoming home.
Nature inspires as the seasons change. Inside, our large spaces suit studios, lectures, workshops, performances, and gallery displays. Outdoors, you’ll find beauty, inspiration, and a deep connection with the earth. This flexibility lets educators tailor experiences and helps participants dive into discovery.
At South Mountain Overlook, you can learn through arts, history, and local stories. Our indoor and outdoor spaces welcome people of all ages to listen, engage, and grow.
Our educational focus weaves together many threads. Music helps you find your voice, from beginner to advanced. Visual arts and poetry invite you to translate the landscape into color and rhythm. History comes alive through interactive exhibits and neighborhood stories that reveal the Middletown Valley’s character and past.
EDUCATIONAL SERIES SPOTLIGHT: COMMUNITY OF COMMUNITIES
The Crossroad Story Dance
Welcom to a grassroots, interactive program designed to spark conversation, curiosity, and connection among our first Community of Communities. This light, informal event invites participants to share stories, music, and traditions.
The sessions draw on a traditional Irish parlor-style gathering that meets at the crossroads—literally and figuratively—where different communities come together to learn from one another. You will find story-sharing circles that invite everyone to listen, reflect, and contribute.
